jLog V 6.14.1  -  Release notes

jLog is a modern Logging program for Hams that can run on all major platforms, e.g. macOS, Linux, Windows, etc. It offers a nice, clean interface and allows efficient entry of QSOs. It provides good real-time integrations and Internet lookups and logging.

A new V6.14.1 release of jLog is available from https://jlog.org and brings the following changes:

Enhancements

  • Auto Resize View may add extra space between columns (in Profile Visual tab) and can also be turned off for manual adjustment of column widths
  • New Tools->Grids command to lookup Grids using QRZ and/or HamQTH
  • Redirect system out & err to file 'jLog-output.txt' in case of start-up problems
  • Log on Map will use a country's default position (capital) if all location info is missing
  • Export only selected rows to WSJT-X
  • New Restart (radios) button in the Menubar. Recalc removed as a button to save space
  • Added handling of new eqsl-fields to remove warnings when running Tools->eQSL Sync (Inbox)
  • New modes FSKH105 and FSKH245 added
  • Yaesu FT-101 and FT-891 radios added

Corrections

  • Cabrillo init default values are entered when available
  • ADIF corrected. I.e. app_jlog_stx_string2 app_jlog_srx_string2 now carries Exch2 fields in stead of reusing STX_STRING/SRX_STRING for both Exch1 and Exch2.
  • eQSL sync restored after syntax changes at eqsl.cc V6.14.1
  • Map function restored after changes at OpenStreetMap V6.14.1
  • Autofill "Addr2" field from qrz.com not works ok V6.14.1

Minor changes

  • WSJT-X Logger auto File save regardless of 'A' checkbox
  • Don't register status if WSJT-X QSO is not complete
  • Updated to JDK 21.0.5 or .6, and a few other library updates
  • A few prefix corrections
  • Spots improvements, e.g. when no radio is connected V6.14.1
  • Added ICOM IC-7760 and Yaesu FTX-1 radios V6.14.1
  • 'Clear MAP cache' button in Map window V6.14.1
  • South Sudan CQ 48 -> 34 ITU 48 V6.14.1
  • Update to JDK 21.09 LTE V6.14.1

Known problems

  • NOTE! jLog will gradually become significantly slower if initialized TCP radios are actually uavailable. To avoid problems, select Serial with an empty Port and also turn off Automatic Updates.
  • Solved: Two Linux .deb versions are now available to handle library naming differences within the Debian "family." One will install on Ubuntu, the other on e.g. Linux Mint, Debian GNU, etc.
